Our History
The Ada Public Library had its beginning with a few books placed in the restroom of the old town hall for the country women to read while waiting there.

Register for a free library card at the circulation desk. A library card is needed in order to check out material. Anyone three years old or older may be registered for a library card. Children under the age of 18 must have a parent/guardian accompany them to register. Proof of current address is required.

Homebound Delivery is a free service for delivery of library materials to residents in the vicinity of Ada who are unable to travel to the library.

The library has a spacious new community room that accommodates up to 56 persons and also a reading room that accommodates up to 12 persons.
An application form is to be completed each time a room is needed. Applications are approved by the library director.
We offer a free notary service, but availability may be limited.

All materials are checked out for 21 days except for DVDs, Video Games, and magazines, these items circulate for a period of 7 days. Materials from SEO Consortium libraries are checked out according to each library's rules. Be sure to consult your check out slip, your My Account link through this website, or the SEO Libraries app for exact due dates.
Friends of the Ada Public Library is a volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the Library in our community. Friends help promote the library, develop activities, present special programs, and encourage reading and use of the Library. Friends meet about every other month to discuss and plan upcoming library functions. Attending meetings is encouraged to share ideas, volunteer for programs, and keep up-to-date on library activities.
